Prices of Black SiC and Green SiC Rise Significantly

Since March 2026, with the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the cost of oil and crude oil in China has continued to rise. Oil prices directly impact the price of petroleum coke, the raw material for Black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide. Furthermore, domestic silicon carbide smelting is mainly concentrated in the Northwest China. The electricity prices in that region were also increased in 2026. The combination of these two factors has led to a significant increase in silicon carbide production costs. As a result, it greatly impacting the prices of both black and green silicon carbide, with a clear upward trend. As of press time, the price of black silicon carbide has generally increased by about 74 USD per ton, and green silicon carbide by about 150 USD per ton.

GC2000# Green Silicon Carbide Powder as a Thermally Conductive Filler for PVC

GC2000# green silicon carbide micro powder is a powder material with high thermal conductivity, high refractory temperature, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and high-temperature performance. Its core advantages as a thermally conductive filler for PVC are: good thermal conductivity, high hardness, chemical stability, fine particle size, and good dispersibility, making it ideal for both soft and rigid PVC thermally conductive products.

What are the black silicon carbide usages?

Black silicon carbide (SiC) is the “work-horse” abrasive grade (α-SiC, > 98 % SiC, low SiO₂/Fe). Because it is the hardest man-made mineral except diamond (Mohs 9.2–9.4, Knoop 2480) and yet costs only a few dollars per kilogram, it is consumed in very large volumes for jobs that simply need cheap, fast cutting and where the dark colour or slight friability is not a problem. The main uses are:

Features of Green SiC powder for polishing AlN ceramic surface

AlN(Aluminum Nitride) ceramic PCB substrate is a high-performance electronic substrate material that uses aluminum nitride ceramic as the core insulating and heat-dissipating base, combined with metal conductive layers (usually copper) to form a printed circuit board (PCB) for high-power, high-frequency electronic devices. Green SiC powder for polishing AlN ceramic surface can acheive a excellent surface toughness.
