Green silicon carbide for metallurgical industry

Green silicon carbide is not only a good grinding material, but also suitable in the metallurgical industry and refractory materials field. The silicon carbide content of green silicon carbide is higher than that of black silicon carbide. In the meantime, its hardness and wear resistance are much higher than that of black silicon carbide. The main applications of green silicon carbide in the metallurgical industry are as follows:

1. The refractory temperature of green silicon carbide is around 1850 ° C, and only dissociation occurs at a high temperature of 2600 ° C. Therefore, it is suitable for the manufacturing of steelmaking furnaces. Qualitative silicon carbide refractory materials work well in key parts of high-temperature kilns, such as slag lines, furnace bottoms, and furnace linings. Green silicon carbide, as a lining material for steelmaking furnaces, can greatly improve the service life of reaction furnaces.
2. In the field of metallurgy, silicon carbide ceramics are commonly used as crucibles, crucibles, etc. Green silicon carbide particles and micro powders are good raw materials to make silicon carbide ceramic parts. Especially for the smelting of non-ferrous metals such as copper and zinc, silicon carbide can resist the corrosion and wear of melted metals and alkaline substances.
3. Green silicon carbide has excellent thermal conductivity. To improve the thermal efficiency of the kiln, the heat exchanger made of silicon carbide abrasive can effectively prevent heat loss. That is beneficial for environmental protection and low-carbon production.
