Bulk density of black silicon carbide 12 #/14 #

Bulk density of black silicon carbide 12 #/14 #

The bulk density of black silicon carbide 12 # and 14 # depends on the grain size and shape. Especially, the shape of black silicon carbide particles has a significant impact on the LPD. Black silicon carbide manufacturer will choose different crushing & milling processes to control the particle shape to different applications. Generally, the abrasive grain from ball milling and air flow processes are higher.

Black silicon carbide 12 # and 14 # grits are adopted in the production of grinding tools. Higher tap density particles ensure more weight abrasive grain put into the mold. This is beneficial for improving the service life of the grinding tool. For example, in the production of semi flexible grinding wheels, black silicon carbide F12 F14 F16 F20 F24 are the raw abrasive grains. The bulk density requirement is 1.5-1.55g/cm3. It is necessary to perform reshaping to improve its bulk density index.

In our factory, the ordinary bulk density of black silicon carbide 12 # 14 # is 1.45-1.5g/cm3. After shape retreatment, the bulk density can reach 1.55g/cm3 or above.
