Black Silicon Carbide F14 SiC grit for fiber Discs

Black silicon carbide F14, as a highly efficient abrasive product, is commonly used in the production of grinding wheels, coated abrasives, and fiber disc.

I. Main Uses of Black Silicon Carbide F14 fiber disc:

F14 is a coarse-grained, high-cutting-gauge steel fiber disc, primarily used for heavy-duty grinding and rapid material removal. Core applications include:

1. Metal casting industry: Rapid grinding and cleaning of casting flash, gates, and risers; removal of surface hardening and oxide scale.

2. Steel structure/heavy industry: Powerful grinding and beveling of thick rust, old heavy paint, welding slag, and large welds.

3. Rough grinding of non-ferrous metals, stone, and fiberglass: Removal of large amounts of material; rapid shaping and rough polishing.

4. Large-area rough rust removal and surface pretreatment of workpieces in shipyards, construction machinery, and mining equipment, preparing for subsequent painting.

5. Suitable for high-powered handheld angle grinder operation; used for rough machining processes requiring high cutting speeds and rapid removal of excess material.

II. Core Advantages of Black Silicon Carbide as Raw Material for fiber Discs

1. High Hardness and Excellent Self-Sharpening Properties: Black silicon carbide crystals are sharp, and during grinding, the abrasive grains continuously break apart to generate new cutting edges, maintaining grinding capability continuously. It is less prone to dulling and slippage, resulting in significantly higher rough grinding efficiency than ordinary brown corundum.

2. Low Cutting Resistance and Easier Grinding: Sharp edges allow for fast material intake, removing more metal residue under the same pressure, reducing worker workload and improving processing efficiency.

3. Excellent Heat Resistance and Thermal Conductivity: Heat generated by grinding friction can be quickly dissipated, reducing workpiece blackening and annealing discoloration, while also delaying overheating and wear of the fiber disc.

4. Strong Chemical Stability: Resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, it is less prone to chemical reactions when grinding carbon steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, fiberglass, and stone, making it suitable for a wider range of materials.

5. Suitable Grain Toughness for Coarse Grinding: F14 coarse particles possess suitable crushing toughness, ensuring strong cutting without crumbling under stress, balancing grinding force and service life.

6. Uniform and Controllable Surface Texture: Coarse grinding creates a regular, rough base surface, which is beneficial for the adhesion of subsequent paint and anti-corrosion coatings.
