Silicon carbide powder for corrosion protection

Silicon carbide powder is a synthetic material that is resistant to high temperatures, chemical corrosion, air oxidation, and UV aging. So silicon carbide powder works excellent for corrosion protection.

The usage of silicon carbide powder for corrosion protection in many ways:
1. Silicon carbide ceramics. Silicon carbide ceramic pipe fittings, nozzles, and pump valves are important desulfurization tower components in the petrochemical industry. These ceramic components can withstand long-term erosion of sulfide gas and can also withstand high-temperature gas environments. These ceramic components are made of green or black silicon carbide particles and powders. By reaction sintering or hot pressing sintering technology, silicon carbide powder turns into SiC ceramics. Therefore, it has the basic properties of silicon carbide powder raw materials.
2. Silicon carbide anti-corrosion and wear-resistant coating. Silicon carbide powder can be mixed with materials such as epoxy resin and polyurethane resin to form a coating on the inner wall of pipelines.  That wear-resistant and anti-corrosion coating can protect the pipes from corrosion. The raw materials for this coating are generally fine-grained silicon carbide powder, such as models of 3.5 microns, 5 microns, 7 microns, etc.
3. Silicon carbide anti-corrosion adhesive. Silicon carbide adhesive is a repair material. When cracks or detachment occur in the desulfurization tower pipeline or components, applying the adhesive to the parts that need to be repaired can prolong the wear and corrosion resistance service life.
4. Silicon carbide macro grits are a good grinding media for surface preparation. After blasting or grinding, the surface will get proper roughness for coating and make further corrosion protection.

In a word, no matter which way it appears, silicon carbide powder can always play the role of high-temperature impact resistance and anti-corrosion, with excellent high-temperature chemical stability and oxidation resistance, and has a very wide range of applications.
