Product introduction of Black silicon carbide F320# for lubricant
Black silicon carbide F320# for lubricant is from high-quality fused silicon carbide. It is of α-phase silicon carbide. Black carborundum is famous for its high Vicker hardness, good refractoriness, low thermal expansion, and high thermal conduct ability. After adding silicon carbide to the lubricant, the oil lubricant will get better thermal performance. In the meantime, high flowability SiC powder can flow to engine part and the lubricating film can get good wear resistance. The film can prevent oxidation and protect the engine parts.
Features of Black silicon carbide F320# for lubricant
- Strong high-temperature chemical stability and corrosion resistance.
Silicon carbide has very stable performance in temperature environments below 1000 ° C. When stable above 1000 ° C, a layer of silicon dioxide film forms on the surface of silicon carbide, which can still maintain stable physical and chemical properties of silicon carbide. The oxidation resistance of silicon carbide will only decrease when the temperature reaches above 1627 ° C.
- Superior thermal conductivity.
The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide at room temperature is 60-200 W/(M · K). The theoretical thermal conductivity (thermal conductivity) of pure silicon carbide is 490 W/(M · K), which is higher than the thermal conductivity of most steel, copper, and aluminum. The thermal conductivity of the silicon carbide ceramic parts made is 120-170 W/(M · K). Has good thermal conductivity.
- Silicon carbide has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal shock resistance.
At a temperature of 25-1400℃, the average coefficient of thermal expansion of silicon carbide is 4.4×10-6/℃, which is lower than that of refractory materials made of aluminum oxide.
- High hardness, toughness, and wear resistance.
The mohs scale hardness of black silicon carbide is 9.2-9.3, the Mohs scale hardness of green silicon carbide is 9.4-9.5, and Vickers hardness is 3100-3400kg/mm2. The hardness of silicon carbide will also decrease with the increase of temperature. At a high temperature of 1200 degrees, the hardness of silicon carbide can reach twice that of aluminum oxide.
- High toughness.
The toughness of silicon carbide abrasives refers to the difficulty of crushing under external forces. Taking 46 mesh as an example, the toughness tested by static pressure method is approximately 68-78%. The mechanical strength of silicon carbide is higher than that of corundum. Taking 120 mesh particle size as an example, the compressive strength of silicon carbide is 186KN/cm2, and the compressive strength of corundum abrasive is 100KN/cm2.
- Uniform particle size.
The particle size range is narrow, with good fluidity and dispersibility.
- High cleanliness.
low free carbon content, and low impurities.

FAQ:
Q: Are you a silicon carbide manufacturer?
A: We are manufacturer. We began to produce green & black carborundum grain and powder since 1999.
Q: Do you have polishing-grade silicon carbide powder?
A: Yes, the green silicon carbide and black silicon carbide micro powder we have are both from water sieving production. They have a narrow particle size range. So they are more suitable for polishing.
Q: What grade of silicon carbide do you have?
A: Expect metallurgical black silicon carbide, the silicon carbide from us is all of A-grade quality.
Q: Do you have a high bulk density of black silicon carbide grain?
A: Yes, we get high bulk-density black silicon carbide grain from a reshaped milling process. That type of black carborundum grain is more suitable for abrasives.
Q: How will you check silicon carbide quality before delivery?
A: We will check the chemical content and cleanness of the SiC grain and powder. And inspect the gradation, bulk density of SiC grain and powder.
Q: Do you support third party quality test?
A: Yes, we are open to get a third-party quality test before delivery.
Q: Are the silicon carbide material from you is reclaimed material?
A: No. We only produce A-grade silicon carbide produced from high-quality melted SiC blocks.
Q: Is there any restriction to export silicon carbide from China?
A: Yes, it need to provide export license to Chinese customs. We could provide it and make customs clearance in China.
Q: Are free samples available?
A: Yes, we provide free samples within 1 kgs. Customers only need to bear the logistic cost.
Q: What is the lead time for each order?
A: It depends on the quantity required. Generally 5-10 days for FCL(20-25MT).
Q: What is your annual capacity?
A: Our capacity is 1800-2000MT per month, annually appr. 22000 MT.
