Prices of Black SiC and Green SiC Rise Significantly

Since March 2026, with the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, the cost of oil and crude oil in China has continued to rise. Oil prices directly impact the price of petroleum coke, the raw material for Black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide. Furthermore, domestic silicon carbide smelting is mainly concentrated in the Northwest China. The electricity prices in that region were also increased in 2026. The combination of these two factors has led to a significant increase in silicon carbide production costs. As a result, it greatly impacting the prices of both black and green silicon carbide, with a clear upward trend. As of press time, the price of black silicon carbide has generally increased by about 74 USD per ton, and green silicon carbide by about 150 USD per ton.
