The green carborundum price of April 2022

At the bottom of March, several manufacturers of green carborundum blocks issued price increase notifications. That is the fourth time to increase the price in a month. The green carborundum price raised about 320 USD per ton after the Chinese new year.

The main reason for the price rise is raw material costs such as petroleum coke are much higher than before. On the other hand, there is more demand aboard. Thus supply is even tense. May silicon carbide manufacturers don’t have stock for mostly used grits. In addition, the petroleum price rise makes logistic costs raised about 30%.

In April, the black carborundum & green carborundum price is more likely to get higher.
