Carborundum powder for advanced SiC Ceramics
SiC Carborundum powder(Silicon carbide powder) is an industrial material with high-temperature resistance and excellent thermal properties. Carborundum powder has strong chemical stability at high temperatures. In the meantime, it is stable strength at high temperatures and low thermal expansion rate. Carborundum powder is an indispensable material for composite ceramics and industrial ceramics. In the projects from our customers, black carborundum powder, and green carborundum powder are used by end-users.
1. Ceramic kiln furniture:
In the field of fine ceramics, carborundum powder is used to make the pillar and a flat plate of tunnel kiln shed frame, lining the top and making sagger.
When producing roasted sanitary ceramics and high-voltage electric porcelain products, the scaffold on the kiln car bears a great load. Therefore, the strength of silicon carbide ceramic products is of great significance. In view of the small thermal stress when baking products, dense silicon carbide refractory with strong oxidation resistance can be used. When baking fine art porcelain products, daily porcelain, low-voltage electric porcelain, and high-frequency ceramics, silicon carbide refractories have to get high thermal stability.
2. Silicon carbide foam ceramic filter for metallurgy and foundry
carborundum powder has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and can maintain stable mechanical and chemical properties at high temperatures. It can maintain high stability when molten steel passes through. Therefore, carborundum powder is suitable for making the foam ceramic filter screen for metallurgy.
3. DPF(Diesel Particulate Filter)Ceramic filter
Carborundum powder has good chemical stability and strong heat shock resistance. It can resist to most strong acid, alkali and corrosion. It can filter the particles of diesel engine exhaust.
4. Wear-resistant ceramic products:
The hardness of carborundum is slightly lower than that of boron carbide. In the meantime, its hardness and mechanical strength are very high. The hardness of black carborundum powder is Mohs 9.2-9.3. And Mohs hardness of green carborundum powder is Mohs 9.4-9.5. It has excellent wear resistance performance. So, carborundum powder is also the raw material for wear-resistant silicon carbide nozzle, silicon carbide wear-resistant plates, silicon carbide sealing rings, and other products.
