Black silicon carbide JIS320# for wear resistance welding rod

Silicon carbide is an excellent refractory material for many thermal insulation fields. A grade black silicon carbide as the highest quality level silicon carbide, the purity of SiC is min 98%. High purity black silicon carbide is an important additives for anti-corrosion, thermal insulation and wear resistance coating and ceramics. Black silicon carbide JIS320# works as wear resistance media on the production of welding rod.

One of characteristic of Black silicon carbide is high hardness close to boron carbide and a little lower than diamond. Thus it can bear strong impact and abrasive.

Black silicon carbide gets high temperature resistance. The chemical and physical state get still steday even at high temperature. Especially in the process of wilding, silicon carbide resist to the heat of abrasion. It can also enhence the stength of welding part.

Black silicon carbide JIS320# is of particle size D50 value around 40 micron. The uniformity of powder particle make the wilding rod wear resistance coating evenly.

On the other hand, black silicon carbide 40 micron powder is suspension treated after acid treating. So there are small quantity of impurites such as Free silica, free carbon. And there is no chrominum contamination. After washing, the purity of black SiC can reach 99%. That is very close to green silicon carbide. In the meantime, the cost of black SiC is much lower than green one.
