Silicon Carbide price in May 2023

In the past month, the silicon carbide price fluctuates to more extent.  Silicon carbide manufacturers quote low prices in May 2023.

Firstly, the black silicon carbide. Black silicon carbide surpasses the demand from both the domestic market of China and abroad. Export declined around 5% in the past two months.

Some of the black silicon carbide suppliers cut down their capacity in May. The price of Black SiC will decrease after the bottom of May.

Accordingly, the fine silicon carbide powder price will decline as well in the coming month.

Secondly, the green silicon carbide. Green silicon carbide prices were stable in the past year. It was on the top level for the high production cost and high demand. The situation seems to change in May. Especially for green silicon carbide grains, the price is expected to be cut by 4-5% in June.
